Traveling Through Time

Since its inception on July 23, 1995, the Finger Lakes Scenic Railway has become a favorite with rail enthusiasts, modelers and transporters alike.

Operating approximately 150 miles of track that spans Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca, Schuyler, Yates and Ontario Counties, the rail system was first used exclusively as a means of shipping. Passenger excursions were added in October 2001 and offer scenic rides between Canandaigua, Geneva, Seneca Falls, Auburn, Watkins Glen and Penn Yan.

Today, most passenger excursions are sponsored by local organizations. However, the Finger Lakes Scenic Railway also welcomes private events such as birthday parties, corporate meetings, holiday celebrations, fundraising events, theme trains, wine tastings and dinner receptions.
